Cultivation
Vegalim grows best on fertile, well-drained soils. Many years of research has shown that the best results in green asparagus production can be achieved with a planting density of 25,000 – 32,000 plants per hectare with a planting depth of 15 - 30 cm. The highest planting density can be used on fields that can be irrigated or where drip fertigation is installed. Vegalim is a 100% male hybrid, so Vegalim not only stands for a long and profitable production life, but also produces no seedlings.
Product
Vegalim has a very high production potential, perfect quality and very good thickness. More than 70% of the uniform production is in the diameter class above 12 - mm. Even under warm or hot conditions, the tip of Vegalim remains firmly closed. Vegalim produces attractive, cylindrical, smooth spears.
Foliage
Vegalim has uniform, very upright foliage and has a good resistance to foliage diseases. As it forms no female berries, the foliage is hardly susceptible to lodging.
