Fardao
Fardao is Flevo Berry’s latest short-day variety and stands out in the mid-range segment thanks to its excellent, aromatic flavour. The variety performs exceptionally well during long daylight hours, but also retains its good flavour and fruit formation under more difficult conditions. The plants produce large, uniform strawberries with an attractive deep red colour and good firmness, even at higher temperatures. Fardao is suitable for cultivation on racks and in greenhouses and can be used flexibly with different plant types depending on the cultivation time. Thanks to its low chilling requirement and high pollen quality, the variety is well suited for early greenhouse production. The compact, open growth habit ensures easy harvesting and well-protected fruit. Due to its excellent shelf life and good taste, Fardao is suitable for both direct sales and the premium retail segment.
