Korona, the tasty strawberry! Korona is known for it’s outstanding taste. The fruits are big, exceptionally sweet and look beautifully dark red. Korona is used a lot to sell at home or for self-picking fields in Germany.

Fruit quality

Korona has a shiny dark red color, the fruits are red on the inside. Korona has a good fruit setting. The average weight of one berry is comparable to Elsanta. The picking period is about the same as Elsanta.

Productivity

Korona’s productivity is good. The percentage of first quality fruits is high. De first berries are big, later on the berries become smaller. The size of the fruits can definitely  disappoint especially  in a multi-year cultivation. The storage life of the fruits is limited.

Sensitivity to illness

Korona’s plants are very resistant to wilting-illnesses and other illnesses. The fruits are somewhat less resistant to fruit rotting and not very resistant to mildew (Sphaerotheca macularis).
