Polka is a very strong growing, very productive middle late type. The shape is moderate and uniform in size and shape. It’s deeply red coloured and tastes good. Possible to pick without calyx.

Polka is suited for fresh consumption as well as for the processing industry.

Growth: Strong, high and pretty tight plants with lots of leaf.

Leafs: Moderate in size, irregularly undulated with rather strange nerve structure. Deeply cut out leaf sides with rounded and rude teeth.

Flowering: Middle late.

Flowering characteristics: Lots of flowering, staying beneath leafs. Flowers have well developed anthers, which results in a good fruit growth.

Fruit: Midsized to big fruit, regularly keel shaped, uniform intense red with little sank yellow seeds. Strong, little vulnerable, juicy with a good taste and a gentile strong aroma. Calyx is moderate to big, which makes it rather easy to pick without calyx.

While testing Polka was not vulnerable for mildew, purple spots, susceptible to wilt, little vulnerable for fruit rot, vulnerable for red root rot and while testing in greenhouses little vulnerable for steel base rot.
