Ostara

Ostara is a strong and attractive type which produces a lot of flowering with rather long flowers. Ostara produces good, keel shaped and attractive fruit. Ostara is also a very open and strong type. It’s a broad type, with lots of embranchments.
Flowering: When Ostara starts flowering, it has a nice flowering from the middle of June till autumn.
Flowers: Rather long flowers, with well developed anthers which stand out of the leafs.
Productivity: Very good.
Fruit: Ripening from about half of June till November.
Shape: The size of the fruit is big to very big, uniform, fresh and red coloured and very attractive.
Quality: Strong, not vulnerable, juicy with a fresh taste and a good aroma, its pulp has a red colour and the total share of 2nd class is very low.
Diseases and damages: Ostara is pretty prone to susceptible to wilt, red root rot, viruses and fruit rot. In cold wetter around autumn it is possible that the fruit won’t get its colour, or gets its colour very slow. Due to a strong growth and long flower stacks it’s recommended to keep a longer, reasonable planting density.
